BW-Restaurants Oy is a privately owned restaurant company headed by Tomi Björck and Matti Wikberg. The company’s restaurants are Farang, Gaijin, Boulevard Social, Bronda, and Bakery Eatery Levain, all located in Helsinki. In total, these four restaurants employ approximately 200 people. In addition, the company’s subsidiary TMK-Restaurants Ab opened another Farang restaurant in Stockholm in early 2013, and Jim Lim in summer 2016.
Each BW restaurant is unique and built with love, striving to be known for its excellent food, warm and professional service as well as for having a relaxed atmosphere. The quickly growing company firmly believes in the basics: good ingredients, uncompromising hand-made dishes and friendly customer service as well as professional pride and passion for what we do.
Farang is a modern Asian restaurant that opened its doors at Kunsthalle Helsinki in August 2009. The exotic flavors, our strong expertise in Southeast Asian cuisine, the relaxed atmosphere and the modern environment within the historic Kunsthalle create an ideal setting for an enjoyable culinary experience. The restaurant’s versatile dining areas can easily be arranged to accommodate various kinds of events. In 2011 food professionals voted Restaurant Farang the best Finnish restaurant. The Michelin Guide has awarded Farang Bib Gourmand ratings in several years including 2017, denoting excellent food at a reasonable price.
Restaurant Gaijin takes you on a culinary journey to Northeast Asia. Located in an excellent spot on the corner of Bulevardi and Yrjönkatu, the restaurant opened its doors in April 2011. Gaijin offers unique flavors by combining traditional Japanese, Korean and northern Chinese dishes with a modern twist. The restaurant’s dining room with its warm atmosphere, the intimate private dining room, the relaxed lounge bar with a long communal table and the sunny outdoor terrace are all suitable for a variety of events and gatherings. The Michelin Guide also awarded Gaijin the 2017 Bib Gourmand rating, denoting excellent food at an affordable price.
Boulevard Social was opened on Bulevardi in May 2012. The kitchen and cocktail bar on the beautiful boulevard offer an innovative fusion of traditional flavors from Greece, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco and other Mediterranean countries. Boulevard Social’s simple bistro decor has been designed around the unique flavors we have created with love. The bar and the summer terrace invite you over for a spontaneous drink in the middle of a hectic day. Boulevard Social has been also awarded a Bib Gourmand rating by The Michelin Guide in 2017.
Bronda opened up its doors in March 2014 to liven up Eteläesplanadi. Serving modern brasserie food, the relaxed restaurant was definitely the most interesting restaurant opening that year. “Located on the corner of Eteläesplanadi and Korkeavuorenkatu, the fresh and impressive space with high ceilings and large windows offers an excellent setting for the duo’s new ideas. The lounge bar is open until late and it offers an excellent view and livens up the Esplanadi Park area. You don’t even need a reservation to eat or enjoy fresh drinks at the bar.
The newest member in our BW-Restaurant family is Bakery Eatery Levain at Kankurinkatu in urban Punavuori neighbourhood. Levain focuses on real wheat sourdough, levain, and offers local residents a casual and warm living room that is open from Monday to Saturday serving breakfast, lunch and a light dinner. In addition, Levain bakers will make freshly baked goods till late afternoon that you can enjoy at the premises or take with you.
The site of Farang Stockholm is located in an old industrial building in the center of Stockholm and is a real treasure. The heart of the 700 square meter restaurant will be the 25 meter long industrial hall with a high ceiling. The hall become the main dining room and other facilities were built around it. After a long design process the restaurant opened its doors to the public at the beginning of February 2013. Few years after Farang TMK-Restaurants opened up Jim Lim in food court K25 during summer 2016.
